If two sides are the same length, it doesn’t matter mathematically which one is assigned as width and which as height. The only important thing is that the longest edge is actually recorded as the length. Measurements are taken only after the package has been finally sealed—that is, including tape, edge protectors, strapping, or additional protective packaging.

Calculating DHL Dimensions: For DHL, the most important factor for billing is the correct classification as standard, 31.5-kg, or oversized. Example: 100 × 35 × 25 cm equals 220 cm, which clearly falls within the non-critical range; the package is then checked against the appropriate DHL verification process.

Calculating DPD girth: With DPD, the additional length check is particularly important in practice, because the maximum length of 175 cm is added to the 300-cm girth limit.
